This May, 2016, I will terminate my 2-year contract as a Head Coach of Cambodian men’s national volleyball team, signed between Maruhan Corporation of Japan and Cambodian Volleyball Federation. Our team made a significant breakthrough as it ranked 5th at SEA Games (South East Asian Games) last year, as compared with the past record of staying at the last place during Sea Games.
This outstanding achievement is a result of the player’s effort and the hard training I imposed on them. With this achievement, I wish to convey my appreciation to Mr. Kim Tor, Director General of Cambodian Volleyball Federation who had improved our training environment, to my Assistant Coach, who had supported my mission and to the Club Coaches who have been training players continuously.
Cambodian players have great potentials. Therefore, I have high hope and expectation to the volleyball situation in Cambodia. In the near future, I believe that Cambodia’s volleyball will be developed significantly in Asia in the area of popularity and management of the federation in a soonest possible time. I observed that there is enough human capacity in this country.
Lastly, I wish a great success for Cambodia as host in Sea Games 2023.
